Frisco police find no indication of shots fired at Stonebriar Centre mall



Frisco police found no evidence of shots fired at the Stonebriar Centre mall after they responded to reports of possible gunfire Saturday night, just hours after a mass shooting at an Allen outlet mall.


A spokesman with the police department said the initial call came about 8:25 p.m.

Police responded to the mall following reports of gunshots about 8:25 p.m. Saturday, just hours after a mass shooting at an Allen mall.The mall in the 2600 block of Preston Road, near the Dallas North Tollway, was evacuated, police said. Police asked people to avoid the area as they investigated.

Police said about 10:10 p.m. that they found no evidence of gunshots being fired inside the mall and said there are no known gunshot victims. Police said prior to the initial report, a large number of teenagers inside the mall began running and screaming, “causing a panic.”

Officials said video from the mall showed the teenagers enter the location together before “causing chaos.”

By about 10:15 p.m., Sgt. Stephen Bryrom said the mall was evacuated and officers were continuing to clear it.


Joshua Lovell, a department spokesman, said police are still investigating to determine whether a chargeable offense exists.

The Stonebriar Centre did not immediately respond to a request for comment.


Morgan Ko and Emily Holverson, employees at an Aerie location in the Stonebriar mall, said they were already on edge after the Allen shooting earlier in the day.
